anti-slop is a set of rules, delivered as skills, for AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. A skill is a set of instructions that your assistant follows while it works. anti-slop calls itself a filter, not a style guide: it doesn't tell your assistant which colours or fonts to use, it stops the habits that make pages look machine-made.
Every visual choice has to pass a purpose test: what does this gradient, badge or animation actually do for the visitor? If there's no good answer, it goes. It was made by Miqdad Badjuber in 2026 and has nearly 8,000 stars on GitHub.
What it can do
- Filter out AI habits. Fake numbers, made-up testimonials, decorative gradients, generic icons and buzzwords are all caught.
- Check before it's done. A Delivery Gate checks contrast, phone layout, links, tap sizes and invented claims before the assistant says the page is finished.
- Write better copy. A copywriting skill covers headlines, buttons and tone, and removes AI-style writing.
- Make pages easier to use. Skills for accessibility and phone layouts cover contrast, keyboard use, focus and tap sizes.
- Clean up code comments. A separate skill removes the pointless comments AI assistants tend to add.
- Two ways to work. Use it while building a page, or afterwards to audit a page you already have.
What we found when we tested it
We gave anti-slop, Impeccable and plain Claude the same brief for a small bakery website. With a full design system in the brief, all three pages looked much the same, but anti-slop's had the best text contrast and the only email link big enough to tap easily on a phone. Without a design system, it made a calm, editorial page with a large serif headline, and labelled it a draft because nobody had given it a brand direction. It used about 50 to 80% more tokens than plain Claude, and took a little over two minutes.
anti-slop, Impeccable or a DESIGN.md file?
All three help your AI assistant make better-looking pages. They differ in how much they decide for you.

A quick way to choose: anti-slop removes what's wrong, and a DESIGN.md says what's right, so they work best together. Want your assistant to come up with a bold look on its own? Try Impeccable.
How to get it
- You need Node.js 20.12 or newer, and an AI coding assistant that works with files on your computer.
- The installer: run
npx antislop-ai and answer its questions about which skills, where, and which assistants. - From the skills directory:
npx skills add miqdadbadjuber/anti-slop - In Claude Code: add it as a plugin with
/plugin install antislop@anti-slop. - Pick a mode once:
npx antislop-ai --mode during stops it asking every session whether to work during or after.
Good to know
- It doesn't give your page a look. Without your own direction, it labels the result a draft. Pair it with a DESIGN.md for the best results.
- It asks whether to work during or after building at the start of every session, until you save a choice.
- It doesn't update itself. Run
npx antislop-ai --update to get new rules. - It uses more tokens and time than working without it, because it reads its rules and runs its checks.
- Licence: MIT. Free to use, change and include in products you sell, as long as you keep the copyright notice. Two of its skills include rules from Addy Osmani's web quality skills, also under MIT.
